  1. Instructions for loading a Patch on a Macintosh.  
  2. It works on Dak Janson's -  Holiday.gob, Dan Shay's - Light Sabre and Rob Porter's (ROBA FETT) - Boba Fett Patchs:

  4. 1) Ungob the Patch.gob with "GobIt!" (By Simon J. Brownlee, Simon.Brownlee@jrc.it), it will create a new folder titled "Patch.gob f".  This folder is already ungobed.
  5. 2) Open that folder and drag all of its contents into the Dark Forces install folder, preferably to the  side of or below the DF Application.
  6. 3) Select ALL  of the .gob contents at once, so they are all hilighted,  and drag & drop them onto the DFApplication.  The game should start and the patch documents will be loaded first, getting preference over those that are in the gobs, inside the Dark Forces Data folder.
  7. 4)  To play the game in the "original" mode just click on the application as usual and it will ignore the patch files.

  12. Well, here it is.  This is the NEW AND IMPROVED 256-color lightsabre patch
  13. for Dark Forces.  It replaces your fist as a weapon.  Unfortunately, it has
  14. the same power as the fist (ther's currently no way to edit weapon logics) so
  15. we can't all go around cleaveing people in two just yet.  Included in this 
  16. .zip file are the following files:

  18. Light.txt ---> this text file
  19. idle.bmp ---> the first frame of the sabre's swing
  20. idol2.bmp ---> the second frame of the sabre's swing
  21. idle3.bmp ---> the third frame of the sabre's swing
  22. punch.voc ---> a .voc file of a lightsabre striking something
  23. swing.voc ---> a .voc file of a lightsabre swinging
  24. lit.gob ---> the gob file required to run this patch
  25.  
  26. I worked for about twelve hours total on this patch.  To do it, I used Aldus 
  27. Photo Styler SE (a CD that came with my CD-ROM drive), and a windows 
  28. recording program.  To convert the various files I had to use dfuse and 
  29. wav2voc.  I hope you like the patch.  If you have any suggestions, e-mail me
